Ten-year-old Jetta Fosberg has a heart as big as the sky, but she’s also had to have some thick skin after facing bullies at school thanks to her selfless deed.
After the Ohio girl cut and donated fourteeninches of her hair to Wigs for Kids, an organization that supports children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments, she started being bullied at school.
Some classmates cruelly started calling her ugly and saying she wanted to be a boy.
The school officials would step in there, right? Not exactly.
When her momapproached the school principal, she claimed he told her that he didnt know of any child that had ever died from words, and that she and her daughter needed to toughen up and deal with it.
Seeing as she wasn’t getting support from the school, her mom decided to go online, creating , an anti-bullying Facebook page to make Jetta feel better after dealing with the harassment.
The page currently has more than 117,000 likes, and people are leaving nothing but encouraging messages of support, something that Jetta appreciates.
Knowing that theres people who think that my haircuts cute, and that they think that Im a good person, it kind of helps me fight against the bullies, Jetta said.
